Pretoria Stoics meeting 27 May 2019

The next meeting of Pretoria Stoics will be on Monday evening 27 May at 18:30 at the usual venue, Karoo Cafe in Lynnwood Road, Pretoria. We’ll continue the series on Marcus Aurelius’s Meditations. We’ll be looking at the same time at Donald Robertson’s new book, “How to think like a Roman Emperor”. In addition we shall be practicing specific Stoic exercises, this time looking at rivers and water as metaphors for time and disIMG_3786tance.

If you have not done so yet, I suggest you getting a copy of Meditations; the George Long translation is a good one and you can get the Kindle version for only one dollar at Amazon at this link:

You can get a free audio book of the same George Long translation at this link:

There will no cost to attend the meeting, but you are expected to order something from the Karoo Cafe menu (even if only something to drink) and bring cash to pay for it.
